POTTED FLUTED PUMPKIN (UGWU)
Ugwu, also known as fluted pumpkin, is a vine plant native to West Africa, particularly popular in Nigeria. It thrives in warm, humid tropical conditions and is commonly grown during the rainy season. The plant is known for its resilience, being able to survive in various conditions, though care should be taken regarding sun exposure during its early growth stages.Ugu seedlings grow best on sandy-loamy soils and more appropriately on beds supplied with organic or inorganic fertilizer. Ugu leaves are a culinary used to make soups, stews, vegetables, sauces, and even medicinally. They germinate 10 days after planting and can start to be consumed at 4 weeks.
