Hippeastrum Wax

Hippeastrum are bulb-forming plants with large flowers. They are popular gift plants that come in a variety of colors. They are often commonly known as amaryllis. Hippeastrums thrive in full sun or light shade. Ideally, place near a wall or fence so that they're protected from strong winds, but getting plenty of sunlight. At average room temperatures, waxed amaryllis begin blooming in about 4 to 6 weeks and will continue to bloom for about 3 weeks, producing 1 or 2 flower stalks with up to 4 blooms per stalk. After bloom, take off wax and pot.
