The mango is a deep-rooted, evergreen plant that can develop into huge trees, especially on deep soils. Seedling trees can reach more than 20 m in height while grafted ones are usually half that size. Grafted mango plants usually take 3- 4 years to bear while trees grown from seedlings take a longer period.

Available mango trees have previously fruited, are grafted and under good conditions will fruit in the coming season.
